I'm having a bit of trouble contacting Roxy. I was sure she was not that far behind me when we were getting to town, and her Pokemon came in with us.

[Concerned. Very much concerned. She's even in the process of backtracking to see if she just got distracted or fell asleep or anything.]

Her eggs both hatched as well, so I know she will want to see them! Maybe her phone is broke, with the response I keep getting..

Why do humans phrase it like that...

It's the polite thing to do when you meet someone for the first time.

Doesn't explain why it's considered polite.

It's just something I was taught since I was young? I don't know how it became the thing to do, just that it is.
